AliExpress says to cut delivery period to Russia to 10 days
MOSCOW, Nov 7 (PRIME) -- Chinese online trading floor AliExpress will reduce the order delivery to Russia to 10 working days starting from Saturday, when a global shopping festival takes place, AliExpress said on Tuesday in a statement.
“The company will test a marketplace model with own delivery for the first time. Logistics company Cainiao, which is a part of group Alibaba (along with AliExpress), will equip the Russian unit of AliExpress with a fast-forwarding delivery of goods,” the company said.
AliExpress signed partnership with national postal carrier Russian Post and freight company AirBridgeCargo. Talks with charter partners are well under way.
Orders will be dispatched not by sellers, but by AliExpress that will unite all parcels at its warehouse facilities in China.
Russian Post expects to process at least 40 million international parcels with goods enclosed per month in a peak season of November–December, which is more than 30% higher than last year.
